The GCRA Officers & Directors
Greetings!
We are well into the 2025 year and I am excited to hear about all the giant chinchillas that have been making int on the table! We also had a nice show in Canton, Ohio for our Breed Nationals, unfortunately the turnout was not very high so hopefully we can figure out a better plan for 2026. At this time we have not picked a location yet but we are planning to vote on 2026 and 2027 still this year.
The Board of Directors is getting more active and working on a guide book, suggesting updates to the constitution and by-laws and working in a quarterly newsletter to keep everyone in the know. It’s a great time to be a member!
The interest in or breed seems to be increasing and its great that we have more breeders! Be sure to keep a Standard of Perfection on hand and read it regularly so we can try to put the best quality Giant Chinchillas out there for people to start their own herds. If you are not sure what you are reading or need help interpreting just ask one of the board members. We are always happy to help!
